Apr 21 2008, 3:05 PM EDT Even though the show is funny and we wish Nancy well, I believe the whole show centers around Nancy's refusal to take control of her life. She seems to be "getting by" and not actually participating in her role as mother, friend, girlfriend or wife. She's a nice person with good intentions, but honestly, how hard would it have been for her to sell her house (even though her kids would have to leave their schools and friends) and re-establish herself in a more economically suitable situation? Her kids seem to be worse off because of her decisions. So, despite the funny nature of the show, each season we seem to see the consequences of her constant bad choices and her weaseling out of tough situations. She is not taking responsiblity for her actions, she is reacting to other people's actions. 4 out of 17 found this valuable. Do you? |
