Could any other actress have been cast in the role of Nancy?

It may be due to the fact that I've been watching Weeds since the first season, but I cannot imagine any other actress playing the role of Nancy Botwin as well as Mary-Louise Parker. Her dynamic with every other cast member is remarkable. I don't think anyone could convey both the vulnerability and toughness that Mary-Louise brings to the role. It wouldn't be the same show with another actress playing the part. Can anyone think of another actress that would play Nancy as well as Mary-Louise Parker?

Molly Ringwald could have pulled it off.I get the same vibe... Its the whole MILQTOAST MILF soccer vibe you get when you look at Mary-Louise Parker. She is the last person you could imagine pushing the stinky icky. Imagine Molly Ringwald slinging nickel bags... Yeah right! Do you find this valuable? |
